My history in Land Before Time Wiki
Edit
My arrival here
Edit
I made my first contributions here on March 14th, 2008. The first few were with my IP address, and when I decided I liked it here, (which took less than a few minutes) I began using my account. At that time, I was an established editor in South Park Wiki at that time, but had recently given it up for Lent, and was focusing more attention on the Land Before Time articles in Wikipedia. It did not look good over there, because the notability of most of the pages was in serious debate. I had been working to establish notability for one of my favourite characters, Ducky, and on my search, I had seen a link to her page in this wiki. I was intrigued to find out that Wikia had a branch for The Land Before Time series, and decided to check it out. As I had predicted, based on how SP Wiki had been when I had first arrived there nearly a year before, the wiki was in pretty sorry shape. Thinking it over, I decided that it would be more promising to try and improve the articles in this wiki, and to leave the rest of the Wikipedians to decide on what to do with their TLBT pages. So I began transferring the information in the WP pages to their equivalents here, and then building on and reshaping it as best as I could. I made character lists, to organize the links to different articles in the wiki, as well as other lists. Back then, I thought it would be easier if we had the really small articles merged into a list, until they could be expanded on, at which point they'd be restored as articles, but much later on I realized that did not need to apply in this wiki, and that it might actually be better off if we didn't do things that way.
In the meantime of all this, the caretaker of the wiki (at that time) had observed my edits for a week, and liked the look of them. He asked me if I wanted to be an administrator/bureaucrat, and I accepted gratefully. After that, I started to put things in even better order, and wrote up some early policies I had modeled partly off of the Wikipedian policies which I had approved of, but replaced the policies I did not like with ones I thought were better. Also, I began our Featured Article of the Month tradition, originally used as a means to promote articles as well as show them off, although I decided at the end of that year that it would be better to follow a more Wikipedian approach to promoting the articles, which is how we do it now. I happily nominated, and later promoted, Ducky's article in this way, as it truly was the best article in Land Before Time Wiki for those first two and a half weeks after I arrived.
The only thing which bothered me was the difficulty in finding images for the wiki, especially character images. Try as I might, I could not find very many suitable images on Google Image search, and I am not very good at taking screenshots, myself. Fortunately, a user who called themself Mim had also arrived here around my time, and was exceptionally efficient with this task. He then set about filling in those image "gaps". A month later, I started up our Featured Image of the Month tradition, which began and evolved in much the same way as the FA of the month one did. And that sums up my arrival and early establishments here.

If you want to see all that I have done for the Land Before Time wiki, take a look at my contributions list. You may also look at the following subsections:
- User:Wilhelmina Will/Creations and Uploads This is a list of individual startoffs I've made for this wiki, including articles/list-articles I've created, templates I've created, categories I've created, images I've uploaded, etc.
- User:Wilhelmina Will/My To-do List Where I keep track of certain tasks - menial or otherwise - that I plan to do soon (or overtime).
- User:Wilhelmina Will/Sandbox My own personal sandbox, where I can work on potential articles, or potential improvements to existing articles, and not worry about messing them up. I might also test editing formulas which I am unfamiliar with.
