Swarming Leaf Gobblers are what would be called locusts (or grasshoppers) in today's world. They quickly eat all the available green food that they come across and this can leave an area with no green food if they are in a swarm. A specific swarm starts the events of The Land Before Time V: The Mysterious Island by destroying the Great Valley. They are the tertiary antagonists of the film.
