These are an aquatic type of reptile and like some aquatic reptiles, have 4 fins. They do not possess long necks like some plesiosaurs do, but are more dolphin shaped instead. Pliosaur fossils have been found in Africa, Australia, China, Europe, North America and South America. Pilosaurs are probably most well known from their grotesque looking teeth. The swimming sharptooth seen in the 9th LBT movie is one such type. Liopleurodon is the only Pliosauridae in the land before time series. Mosasaurus from The Land Before Time IV: Journey through the Mists look alike Kronosaurus a type of pliosaur.
