Brontoscorpio is a genus of fossil scorpion. Its remains were discovered in Upper Silurian-aged sandstone from Trimpley, Worcestershire, and the species was described on the basis of an incomplete single free finger of a pedipalp, almost 10 centimeters (3.9 in) long. The complete animal is estimated to be at least 90 centimeters (35 in) long. Its carnivorous diet may have consisted of worms or other arthropods. It is one of the largest known true scorpions.

In The Land Before Time

A massive Brontoscorpio, referred to as Scorposaurus, which is far bigger than even the largest individual known from the fossil record, appears as the first boss in The Land Before Time for the Gameboy Advance. It is found outside of its natural ocean home, instead being found in a desert environment, though this could be a reference to the fact that it was one of the first creatures to climb onto land. It will attempt to sting the player with its massive and long tail, but the player can damage it by rolling into its head with a spinning attack. It will be defeated after it has been hit seven times.
